The Daily Algorithm. This site is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who visits. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
1. Information We Collect
We are built as a publication first, not a data collection platform. We deliberately minimize what we gather.
Information you provide directly: If you leave a comment on an article, we collect the name and comment text you submit, along with the time of submission. We do not require an account, email address, or any other personal detail to comment unless explicitly stated on the comment form.
Information collected automatically: Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may log basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited. This is standard server-level logging used for security and performance monitoring, not for building a profile of you.
Cookies: See our separate Cookie Policy for full details on what cookies we use and why.
2. How We Use Your Information
Any information we collect is used strictly to operate and improve this site displaying comments, remembering your theme preference, understanding general traffic patterns, and maintaining basic security. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Where Your Data Is Stored
Comments submitted on this site are stored using Supabase, a third-party database provider. Supabase stores this data on secure cloud infrastructure and maintains its own security and privacy practices, which you can review on their website. We have configured access rules so that comment data can only be read and written in the limited, intended ways necessary for the comment system to function.
4. Third-Party Services
This site relies on a small number of third-party services to operate:
Sanity.io — used to manage and store the articles, categories, and site content published here.
Vercel — used to host and serve this website to visitors.
Supabase — used to store and serve reader comments.
Each of these providers may process limited technical data as part of delivering their service to us. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies if you’d like more detail.
5. Data Retention
Comments remain visible and stored until you request removal or until we determine removal is appropriate (for example, in cases of spam, abuse, or policy violations). We do not currently retain personal browsing data beyond what is automatically and briefly logged by our hosting and security infrastructure.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you’ve submitted (such as a comment). If you would like a comment removed or have questions about data we hold related to you, you can reach out directly to us at “dailyalgorithm.official@gmail.com”
7. Children’s Privacy
This site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us so we can remove it.
8. International Visitors
This site is accessible globally. By using this site, you understand that your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States and wherever our service providers operate their infrastructure.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time as the site evolves or as legal requirements change. The version posted here is always the current and active one. We encourage you to review it periodically.
